Midnight in Paris is a good romantic comedy/fantasy from Woody Allen who's examining our collective capacity for self-delusion about the past. Allen's not treading any new ground here but he's still Woody Allen and nobody is better at sticking the satirical sword into smug, pompous elites or analyzing train-wrecked relationships.

Owen Wilson does a fine job playing a bored American TV writer and aspiring novelist who travels to Paris with his fiancee and her right wing parents who detest him because he's not in tune with their politics. His fiancee doesn't seem terribly interested in him either and prefers spending time with her obnoxious friends which is okay with Wilson as he prefers time traveling and drinking with Ernest Hemingway and F Scott Fitzgerald in what he imagines was the Golden Age of 1920's Paris.

Oscar winner Marion Cotillard and Rachel McAdams provide good support as Wilson's 1920's girlfriend and his fiancee respectively.
